Each year that is exactly right from the year 2004 the gay festive is been celebrated with a theme and the same way the Gay Fest 2008 is not been spared with. The gay fest 2004 is the first ever largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender festival in Romania and was titled as Diversity festival and had a unique theme too like “You have the right to be diverse” and the event mostly concentrated on the debates and seminars than any other activities. The events of the following years started witnessing more of the cultural events and finally the even of the gay pride parade to boost the gay Romania community and in which participants like Miss Travesti take part and the clashes between the political and social organizations regarding this issue is a common scene and to add to the pride the festival also receives funding from Romanian Ministry of Health and the National Council for Combating Discrimination and also from various other private organizations and to name a few like the Open Society Institute and the British Council in Romania. The festival hosts many films and many news publications were released on the festival and also many photographic exhibitions are also been held every year to mark more glamour to the festival.
